FINALLY - The iconic BMW M3 now has a Touring model and it is on its way to South Africa! And they are bringing along the freshly facelifted M4 to join in the fun as well.

Pricing and Availability

We believe that the sleek M3 Touring will set you back a cool R2 218 506 when it lands later this year, while the striking M4 Coupe will be priced at R2 238 002.

Arrival date? The M3 Touring is set to roll into town between October and December, while the revamped M4 lineup hits our shores between July and September, accompanied by the updated 4 Series.

What’s Under the Hood Then?

Both the new M3 Touring and M4 are powered by BMW’s legendary 3.0 litre, straight-six, twin-turbocharged petrol engine, now tuned to pump out a mighty 390kW and 650Nm. That’s a 15kW bump over previous models, ensuring these beasts pack a serious punch.

The power is sent to all four wheels through the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system with an active differential, and gear changes are managed by a lightning-fast eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup rockets the M4 Convertible from 0-100km/h in a blistering 3.7 seconds, the M3 Touring in 3.6 seconds, and the M4 Coupe in just 3.5 seconds.

Speed and Handling

Thanks to the standard M Driver’s Package, the top speed of the M3 Touring and M4 Convertible is an exhilarating 280km/h, with the M4 Coupe topping out at an impressive 290km/h. All three models come with adaptive M suspension, M compound brakes, an M traction control system with 10 grip settings, and stylish 19-inch front and 20-inch rear light-alloy wheels.

Bold New Look

Visually, the new M cars are as aggressive as they are beautiful. They sport redesigned headlights with vertical LED units in an arrowhead shape, a large kidney grille with M-signature horizontal double bars, extended gloss black side skirts, flared wheel arches, and new front and rear bumpers.

Luxurious Interiors

Step inside, and you’re greeted by a flat-bottom steering wheel, sumptuous Merino leather upholstery in four colours, and a redesigned instrument panel featuring fewer buttons and more digital wizardry.

The dash boasts a curved display, comprising a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and M-specific graphics, including a lap timer and drift analyser - because everyone needs to measure their drifting skills of course.
