The facelift brings a number of aesthetic and performance enhancements to the mid-size SUV, which is expected to go on sale later this year in China.

Bold New Design

One of the most noticeable changes to the Haval H6 facelift is its bolder and more aggressive front end. The SUV features a new grille design with a more prominent mesh pattern, flanked by sleek LED headlights with vertical daytime running lights. The overall look is more modern and sophisticated than the outgoing model.

The side profile of the Haval H6 facelift remains largely unchanged, although the wheelbase has been extended by 50 mm to 2738 mm. This should translate to a more spacious cabin, especially for rear-seat passengers. At the rear, the taillights have been redesigned with a more traditional look, replacing the previous lightbar design.

Interior Refresh

While official interior images are not yet available, leaked images and reports suggest that the Haval H6 facelift will also receive an interior refresh. The cabin is expected to feature a new dashboard design with a focus on horizontal lines to create a wider feel. The centre console is also expected to be redesigned, with a new gear selector and more storage space.

The materials used throughout the cabin are expected to be of higher quality, with a mix of soft-touch plastics and leather upholstery. The overall look is likely to be more upscale and luxurious than the outgoing model.

Upgraded Powertrains

The Haval H6 facelift is expected to retain the same engine options as the current model, but with some performance upgrades. The 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine will reportedly produce 130 kW (up from 110 kW), while the 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine will now deliver 170 kW (up from 150 kW). Both engines will likely be paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

A plug-in hybrid option is also rumoured to be in the works, but details about this powertrain are still scarce.

Expected Features

The Haval H6 facelift is expected to come loaded with a variety of features, including a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance features.

Conclusion

The Haval H6 competes in a crowded segment of mid-size SUVs. Some of its key rivals include the recently refreshed Volkswagen Tiguan, the Mazda CX-5, and the Hyundai Tucson. The facelift is expected to help the Haval H6 maintain its competitive edge in this segment. The new design, improved performance, and upgraded features are likely to make it an even more attractive option for buyers in the market for a stylish, well-equipped, and powerful SUV.
