Haval has introduced updates to its popular Jolion range, now splitting it into two distinct models: the entry-level Jolion City and the more upmarket Jolion Pro. And interestingly enough it is cheaper than before.
Jolion City
The Jolion City now serves as Haval's new entry-level crossover, replacing the previous City, Premium, and Super Luxury trims with a more simplified lineup. The Luxury variant remains but is now considered a limited edition with production of only 120 units. The design of the Jolion City incorporates modernised air vents below the headlights, aligning with the aesthetic of the Jolion Pro. Additionally, the traditional Haval logo on the tailgate has been replaced by a GWM badge.
Under the hood, the Jolion City retains the turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine, delivering 105kW of power and 210Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox in the base model or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in the Plus and Luxury trims. The sporty S and hybrid HEV variants now feature in the Jolion Pro range instead.
Standard features in the Jolion City include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker sound system, 17-inch alloy wheels, and black cloth seats. Additional features are rear armrests, follow-me-home halogen headlights, daytime running LEDs, electric mirrors, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, push-button start, four airbags, Hill Start Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking, and Driver Attention Alert.
The Plus and Luxury variants offer further enhancements such as dual-zone climate control, roof rails, an imitation leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Hill Descent Control. The Luxury model adds 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, and special badging.
Jolion Pro
Positioned as the new flagship Jolion model, the Jolion Pro features significant exterior and interior differences compared to the Jolion City. The Jolion Pro range includes five variants across three trim levels, with engine options that include a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine (105kW/210Nm) and a more powerful hybrid version (140kW/370Nm) in Ultra Luxury spec. The suspension system also differs from the Jolion City, featuring an independent multi-link design at the rear.
Standard features in the Jolion Pro Premium trim level include 17-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, electric windows, and mirrors, as well as additional safety and convenience features such as paddle shifters, a reverse camera, cruise control, and various driver assistance systems.
The Super Luxury trim upgrades to LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, imitation leather upholstery, and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. It also includes a six-speaker sound system, folding electric mirrors, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, electric driver’s seat, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features.
The Ultra Luxury variants add remote closing windows, electrically adjustable passenger seats, rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system. The hybrid model also features a wireless smartphone charger and heated and ventilated front seats.
