A Powerhouse Unveiled

“You wait around for a bus and then two come along at the same time”. Ever heard of that saying? Well Audi has gone along and done the same - except it is much much faster than any bus out there. Putco included.

The facelifted Audi Q8 was revealed a few months ago, promising to hit South African dealerships soon. However, one crucial piece of the puzzle was missing: the flagship Audi RSQ8. Well, the wait is over, and Audi has not disappointed. Introducing not one, but two versions of this fast SUV, with the Audi RSQ8 Performance sitting proudly at the top.

Raw Power and Speed

Let’s talk about the faster sibling first. Under the hood of the RSQ8 Performance lies a 4.0 litre turbocharged V8, dialled up to an eye-watering 471 kW and 850 Nm of torque. This beast can rocket from 0 to 100 kph in a mere 3.6 seconds.

It’s not just about straight-line speed, though. The RSQ8 Performance recently smashed the class record at the Nurburgring, clocking in at 7:36.698 – dethroning its half sibling Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.

The Standard Bearer

However the standard Audi RSQ8 isn’t exactly a slouch either. Sporting the same 4.0 litre V8, it churns out 441 kW and 800 Nm, hitting 100 kph in just 3.8 seconds.

Both versions come equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system. They also feature a centre differential, all-wheel steering, and adaptive air suspension, ensuring they handle as well as they perform.

Spotting the RSQ8 Performance

You can easily spot the new RSQ8 Performance with its beefy looks and potentially some dazzling new paint options – Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue, and Chilli Red. It also features Audi’s advanced new lighting system, adding a touch of futuristic flair. Inside, you’ll find luxury and sportiness combined with an Alcantara steering wheel and perforated sports seats.
